An Invitation To Rest

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me… and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”Matthew 11:28–29

There is a natural shift midway through the year to lean into more of a relaxed summer schedule, allowing for rest, vacation, and fun. What a wonderful opportunity for a midyear reset. Rest is good, necessary, and a gift from God!

In a recent message, Pastor Dulaney reminded us of Jesus’ invitation: Take my yoke… connect with me… and in that, find rest for your soul. If you missed it, you can listen to that sermon here.

Jesus tells us here in Matthew 11 how to find rest for our souls. He says “Come to me,” which is an invitation for anyone who is weary. He also says "Take my yoke upon you." His yoke is what connects us to Him.

The essence of what He is saying here is "come and connect with me." What a beautiful invitation from our God!

Will you accept His invitation to come and connect with Him? Let this season be a time of spiritual renewal and drawing closer to Jesus.

A midyear challenge to find rest and stay connected:

Begin each day with stillness. Make alone time with Jesus a priority. Practice just being in His presence. He wants to be with you.
Refresh your soul in the Word. Read and memorize a few passages each week.
Choose connection over distraction. Instead of scrolling, ask “Lord, what do I need from you right now?”
Reach out. Text or get together with someone to encourage them and share what God is doing for you.

Youth Camp Highlights

“An Awesome Move Of God In Every Service”

In June, The Sanctuary youth group attended youth camp at Rocky Mount, NC. God moved on the hearts of the young people and personal relationships with the Lord were strengthened! As Aleaha Locke shared, "What I loved about youth camp this year were the services...we always had an awesome move of God."

Furthermore, our very own Briana Locke served as a counselor and was awarded Female Counselor of the Year! Congratulations, Briana. This recognition is well-deserved, as anyone who knows Briana would affirm. The Sanctuary is very proud of her and grateful for the impact she continues to make in the lives of others.
