We are well into 2025, and at The Sanctuary, we are fully engaged in laying a strong foundation.
Proverbs 24:3-4 says, “Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.” A house full of precious and pleasant riches sounds wonderful, doesn’t it? But before we can enjoy a sturdy house, we must first ensure that our foundation is secure.
In Matthew 7:24-25, Jesus refers to one who builds his house upon a rock as a wise man. That rock is Christ Jesus. As we lay this foundation, we do so faithfully – stone by stone – through prayer, worship, love, and commitment.
When we are faithful in these things, we will see the results both in our personal lives and in our church family. Then, when the storms of life come, we will stand firm, rooted in Christ.
One of the key foundation stones Pastor Dulaney has emphasized is prayer. We began the year with corporate prayer and fasting, and we continue to keep that focus in our personal devotion to the Lord each day in our homes.
To help strengthen this foundation, church prayer teams gather every Saturday night to intercede for our church, our community, and one another. If you haven’t joined yet, consider making it part of your routine – there is something powerful about uniting in prayer with fellow believers!
Beyond our corporate meetings, let’s also stay diligent in daily personal prayer. If you ever feel discouraged or distracted, team up with a fellow saint during the week – call, text, or meet up to pray together. The enemy would love to keep us isolated, but when we stand together in prayer, we are stronger and more victorious.
Let’s keep laying each stone with faith, knowing that God is building something unshakable in our lives and in The Sanctuary!
